Value-Added Costs Management

Preparation of Costs Budget

Costs Budgeting is the starting point for costs recovery in most multi-track cases. To ensure maximum recovery upon settlement, it is vital to manage costs effectively from an early stage. Drawing on a wealth of experience, we prepare Costs Budgets that are based on an accurate projection of the litigation process from inception to conclusion, no matter the complexity.

Budget Negotiations

The County Cost team is well versed in conducting Budget negotiations. Our team will analyse the other party’s Budgets, prepare Precedent R Budget Discussion Reports and actively engage with opponents to narrow issues prior to Costs and Case Management Conferences. If Costs Budgets cannot be agreed, our team will ensure strong submissions are submitted in preparation for advocacy.

Attending CCMC Hearings

One of our specialist Cost Lawyer advocates will attend the Costs and Case Management Conferences hearing. We provide assistance and guidance on the budgeting process and costs management to make sure a client’s costs are maximised at this early stage of the litigation process.

Cost Budget Revision (Precedent T)

We can assist in reviewing files to identify whether a revision is required to a Costs Management Order and assist in the process from preparing the requisite Precedent T, reviewing a Third Party’s Precedent T, to contacting the Third Party and entering into negotiations.
